 Mr. Raju Jaddoo was until recently the Secretary General of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( MCCI) , having served the institution for the past five years. As the oldest private sector association of the country , the MCCI has been at the forefront of the economic development of the country helping to shape economic and trade policies. Covering a wide spectrum of the Mauritian economy, the MCCI plays a key advocacy role and has developed a range of services to support the business community. The MCCI is also a prominent non-state actor participating in all international trade negotiations alongside the government with a view to expand our markets and ensure competitive market access for our goods and services be it at the level of SADC,COMESA, EPA, WTO and the Africa wide Continental Free Trade Agreement and in the ongoing negotiations with India and China.

He has also been involved in a range of regulatory reforms and impact assessments. He led a diverse team and managed the different business units and investments of the Chamber. He was elected as an executive council member on the board of the world chambers federation which regroups around 14,000 chambers around the world.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Raju was the Managing Director of the Board of Investment and was responsible for putting in place a robust investment promotion strategy for the country and creating an enabling businesss environment . He was tasked to develop an aggressive FDI attraction strategy and spearheaded the opening up of the country to investment and to Foreign talents . He was responsible for the marketing of the country internationally as an investment destination and led a number of high level missions in the various capitals of the World.

Until 2005 , Raju was a Partner in De Chazal Du Mee responsible for Corporate Finance Advisory and Business Consulting. He has worked extensively in Africa and alongside Arthur Andersen partners on a range of infrastructure assignments during that time. He also delivered lectures at the Arthur Andersen Center for Professional Education in Chicago.

He is a Fellow of the Insitute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales since 2000, having been an Associate member since 1989 when he left private practice in london to join De Chazal Du Mee in Mauritius . He has served on numerous international boards and currently sits on a number of funds as a non executive director .
