Scott Mackenzie
MANAGER, INVESTOR RELATIONS

Scott Mackenzie is the Investor Relations Manager
at India Capital Management (HK) and has been with the firm
more than seven years.Born in Brazil, raised mostly in the UK and a Hong Kong
resident since 1996, Scott brings a cosmopolitan background to the job.
Scott earned an undergraduate and
Master's degree in chemistry at the University of Kent,
a discipline he excelled at due to his analytical mind,
his love of laboratory experiments, and especially,
he now admits, "a love of blowing stuff up".
Scott began his career at Southern Water, one of the world's largest water companies, where he tested the water's chemical composition and its taste; thanks in part to Scott, the greater Kent region has some of the finest tasting water in the United Kingdom (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7534517.stm).
A year of world travel was cut short when Scott fell in love with Hong Kong and received an unexpected job offer in publishing that combined his interests in science and communication. He went on to hold a variety of senior posts in science and environmental publishing, including Chief Editor of EcoAdvantage, an environmental magazine, and of Asia Engineer, one of Asia's most widely read technical publications.
Scott parlayed these experiences into a management role at MWH Global, a leading science and technology environment consultant. There he participated in a number of major infrastructure projects, including Hong Kong's multi-Billion dollar Harbour Area Treatment Scheme, which involved digging almost 30km of underground tunnels.
Scott joined India Capital in September 2003 and was the firm's first employee. "It was very much a boutique fund back then. To enter the office building, you had to walk through a back alleyway and at one point the only other business in the building was a hairdresser. "Scott's role was multi-faceted, touching on everything from research, to analyzing performance, to marketing the fund and dealing with clients. The growth of the firm and the India Capital team over the last few years has allowed Scott to focus his efforts fully on investor relations, the area about which he is most passionate. "I very much enjoy interacting with investors and ensuring that we as a firm are keeping this most important group well informed, as well as responding quickly and accurately to their questions."
Outside the office, Scott is an avid and very successful darts player. He has won the Hong Kong Master's three years in a row and recently represented Hong Kong at the Asia Pacific Cup in Tokyo, where he finished 2nd in the doubles event. He also represented Hong Kong in the 2010 PDC Darts World Championship in London.
